Mission Statement:
The task of the laboratory is to combine molecular/cellular biology and demands of surgical patients.
In this way, the laboratory acts at the interface of clinical medicine and
basic research promoting translational medical science.
Our work focuses on following aspects:
i) the elucidation of molecular mechanisms of disease,
ii) the definition of molecular predictive factors, which can guide clinical decisions
iii) on the rational development of innovative therapies, based on new molecular knowledge
The laboratory is an institution of the whole surgical clinic.
Therefore research topics address various aspects of surgical therapy
We have grouped them in following main general areas:
a) Oncology
b) Cardiovascular Medicine
c) Transplantation/Tissue regeneration
d) Applied Immunology/Inflammation
